Over a Bottle of Rosé is a Short Film created in collaboration with a young collective Film Locos. As amateur film makers, their focus is on highlighting the fact that there are over 250,000 South & Central Americans living in the UK but they're only ever featured in roles that emphasise their immigrant status. A series of 6 short films were created to challenge this notion by telling nonchalant, day in the life stories that feature British Latin Americans.
As a Director, I signed on to the project to challenge myself to create an engaging Short Film with no budget and that had a narrative specifically designed to be as uneventful possible.
As a Polynesian filmmaker living in London, I was excited to work on this project as I understand the marginalisation of groups and felt a connection to elements of my culture by working with an all Central and South American crew.
